The Artist

Apart from attending evening classes at Glasgow School of Art as a teenager, I am largely self taught. My ambition way back then was to become a cartoonist and I had a few cartoons published, including in a national newspaper.

In 1982, after a number of years in secular employment, I resigned my position to take up full time work presenting a series of Illustrated Bible Talks for Children in schools, halls and summer camps throughout the UK.

Unfortunately, health problems and age have compelled me to take a new direction: I now spend time, whenever possible, painting.

My paintings are mainly Scottish landscapes, though not exclusively, and my preferred media are acrylics and watercolours. I usually have at least one solo exhibition in the course of a year. Work has been sold to customers as far afield as the US, Australia and South Africa, as well as throughout the UK.
